IMAGING SERVICES
RADIOLOGY
Our modern digital X-ray machine means we can produce quality digital radiographs within minutes. Radiography is used to diagnose a myriad of conditions such as lung disease, foreign bodies, bone fractures and cancer. We can also send these images to specialist referral centres for further interpretation. Radiography involves a sedation or general anaesthetic as we need your pet to lie still and in certain positions!
We have recently invested in dental radiography which allows us to evaluate your pet’s teeth by identifying problems not visible above the gum line such as tooth fractures, retained baby teeth, tooth root abscesses and infections!
ULTRASOUND
Ultrasound is a non-invasive procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to create an image of part of the inside of the body. An ultrasound scan can be used for pregnancy diagnosis, to diagnose a condition, or guide a vet to perform biopsies. It is especially useful for looking at the heart and abdominal organs. An ultrasound scan can be performed with or without sedation and involves clipping the coat.
